The IDSVA will address safety of the client and their children, assessing the client’s needs and risk level. They will discuss options with clients and deliver a range of interventions as well as develop safety plans, and support clients through civil or criminal courts. The IDSVA will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic & sexual abuse.
The post holder will have previous experience working in the domestic/sexual abuse field and will have a strong understanding of the needs and issues specific to survivors of domestic abuse. SafeLives/CAADA training certificate in domestic and sexual abuse is essential.
The post holder should be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. The person we are looking for will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, providing high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment. Owning a driving licence/own vehicle is preferable.
